Moore's Bridge is located about 1.9 miles from the town of Palenville as you head west into Kaaterskill Clove. It is situated downstream from the more famous Fawn's Leap waterfall.
The falls under the bridge are popular with photographers and ice climbers, earning the location the nickname "Brake Pad Bridge" due to the smell of brakes from vehicles descending the winding mountain road.
The origin of the name "Moore's Bridge" is not definitively known, but most likely named after a person, Alexander T. Moore, who owned land and a saw mill in the Kaaterskill Clove.
