There is also crazing under the glaze which is typical. This piece displays very well.
It measures 9 3/4" in diameter and dates circa 1830's.
Thomas Cole's painting, "View of the Catskill Mountain House, N.Y.," engraved and published in London in 1830, inspired this transfer-printed scene. Several Staffordshire potters reproduced engravings of the Catskill Mountain House, a popular resort overlooking the Hudson Valley.
